A shorter walk! What a pleasure to have a 7km day. This is the way to go.

Today is 28km and it’s all hills at the beginning.

I think the Camino was designed for suffering.

Today was about doors.

This was just one huge climb up a mountain, but what a view at the top! It’s the famous metal sculptures that you see in every Camino de Santiago guide book. To stand there with them felt like such an accomplishment. I’d dreamt of it, launched a plan, did it, and there we were.

Of course we walked down the street where they run bulls. There was an odd sex shop that appeared to sell only very realistic penis and vagina shaped candy. It was puzzling.

The walk to Pamplona is almost all up hill.

You can be on the most serene country path for an hour then, suddenly, it’s completely paved with stone for a mile.

Sometimes the trail really sucks.

I’ve read endlessly about walking the Camino De Santiago. Actually being there and walking, my pilgrim shell tied to my backpack, felt surreal.
